Hidden Tips and Trick In Gmail That You Need To Know

Most people nowadays use Gmail, to me I can say 60% use Gmail because of it fast growing importance in the Internet world.

Most of the user know how to fully know how to use their Gmail but not to the fully potential, like when you can send sms with your Gmail account, it took some time for some of us to know and to make use of this feature.

I want to list out some things or features you might not know about Gmail and I will be explaining how you can go about it.

ADDING MULTIPLE FILES AT ONCE

Some of us are used to the adding of files one by one, but with your Gamil account you can actually send multiple files, by not following the usually step that we normally do which is adding one after the other.

To add multiple files at once, there are actually two ways in doing this;

When the files you want to attach are in the same folder all you do is press down the Ctrl button and click on the files or press the shift button and click on continuous files folder.

The second option is pressing the Ctrl button and select the files you want to attach to your message and drag it to the attach section area and drop it there.

Setting Up desktop notification

Some of us always refresh their email if they are expecting an important email but do you know that their no need for that? All you have to do is download a Add-on which available for Google Chrome browser , which enables popup that let you know when you have received an email or a chat message.

1. Click the gear icon in the upper right of your Gmail and select Settings.
2. On the General tab, select the option you’d like in the “Desktop Notifications section. You can turn Chat notifications on or off, or receive notifications for all incoming email or only those Gmail marks Important.
3. When you’ve made your selections, click Save.

Know more About Your Contact

There is a widget called “Gmail’s people widget” this is located at your right hand side of your Gmail messages.

When you click on one of the names of your contact on the right hand side, it shows you everything about that particular contact such as email address, occupation, recent Google+ post which the contact has made visible to you.

But if you don’t like the widget, to disable the widget;

1. Click the gear icon in the upper right and select Settings;
2. On the General tab, select “Hide the people widget” button;
3. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

Sign out Remotely

You are the person that login with different devices and you forgot to logout, you can do that remotely Scroll to the bottom of your inbox: You’ll see information about the time and location of the last activity on your account. Click Details to see whether your account is still open in another location.

The page that pops up shows you if your account is open in another location, recent activity,(which includes whether it was accessed by browser, mobile, POP3 and so on) the IP address; and the date and time. You can also log out of all other sessions from here.
